AIRPHIL EXPRESS OPENS DIRECT FLIGHTS TO CEBU AND DAVAO

Airphil Express is excited to announce another milestone as it launches direct and daily flights to Cebu and Davao beginning July 21, 2010.

Since the re-launch of the airline with its new brand name and the acquisition of its new Airbus A320s, Airphil Express has grown its business remarkably. Initially flying its jets to routes such as Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Iloilo and Puerto Princesa, the introduction of more destinations in its A320 route network signifies its progressive and resolute move to becoming the region’s leading low cost carrier.

“Launching direct flights to Cebu and Davao marks our resurgence in the domestic arena, and are key as we expand our route network. These two major hubs pave the way for the introduction of more aircraft in the 4th quarter of this year, and will allow us to better address the demands of the travelling public,” said Airphil Express Corporate Communications Manager, Bettina de Vera.

She added that, “Cebu and Davao represent some of the Philippines’ most progressive and developed cities, and our low prices are to entice more local tourists to explore these colorful, scenic and rich cultural areas.”

Airphil Express flies to 24 domestic destinations from Manila and Cebu. Direct flights from Manila are to Bacolod, Busuanga, Cagayan De Oro, Calbayog, Catarman, Boracay (Caticlan and Kalibo), Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Legazpi, Masbate, Naga, Ormoc, Puerto Princesa, San Jose, Surigao, Tagbilaran and Tuguegarao. The Cebu hub caters to flights to Bacolod, Cagayan de Oro, Boracay (Caticlan), Iloilo and Tacloban. It also flies direct from Busuanga to Puerto Princesa.

Airphil Express Chief Executive Adviser, Brian Hogan shared, “We are taking several steps to expand our business, but ultimately, it is our goal to provide more options at lower cost to our customers. We expect to be competitive with the incumbent carriers with our strategy of route expansion, procurement of brand new A320 aircraft complemented with our friendlier, customer-centric policies and low fares.”
